STORMZY, OUR NATIONAL TREASURE.
We have never felt prouder of British talent than we do right now, thanks to Stormzy for his powerful performance and his TWO wins at the Brit Awards 2018 last night.
Not only did he demand that all eyes were on him, as he stood drenched as rain poured down upon him, the whole nation heard his poignant message for Theresa May and co, and for Grenfell.
His freestyle called out:
“Theresa May where’s the money for Grenfell?
What you thought we just forgot about Grenfell?
You criminals, and you got the cheek to call us savages.
You should do some jail time you should pay some damages
We should burn your house down and see if you can manage this.”
This is what art is all about!
His performance and passion brought goosebumps and tears. Unafraid and unapologetic for using his voice, and for speaking for those that no longer speak, Stormzy illustrated the power rising within the British music scene and beyond.
Taking no opportunity for granted, there are no limits to what the next few years look like for our new national treasure.
Winning both MasterCard British Album of the Year for 'Gang Signs & Prayer' and British Male Solo Artist, Stormzy has a great deal to be proud of.
